A Contextual Research of Crossfit
This research is a group project conducted by Team XFit (Benjamin Dunkel, Veronique deGroot, Maria Montoya and Wen Xiong). Through this study, we
examined the thriving social culture of CrossFit through various research methodologies.
We observed and formally interviewed 7 CrossFit gyms, 1 business owner, 3 trainers and 4 CrossFit members.
Models and SynthesisThe model generation process helped us to explore and communicate our most important ideas within the group. Our team used 2x2 maps, ecosystem maps, personas and venn diagrams to illustrate our data.
Four themes emerge in our affinity diagram: Motivation, Friendliness, Variety and Risks. After our modification, they become four distinct insights: Experience, Diversity, Safety and Business.
